After two years of joint development, Terberg started this month (October ’20) with extensive testing of its first concept hydrogen-powered terminal tractor. The tractor, developed in collaboration with zepp.solutions, is now in operation at United Waalhaven Terminals in Rotterdam.
Bakker Barendrecht in the Netherlands currently has five YT tractors, both diesel and electric models, to handle trailers. In the summer they received a new generation YT-203EV electric tractor for testing.
Terberg has now started series production of the third generation YT193 and YT223 tractors. These Yard Tractors are used in ports and distribution centres worldwide. The new models promise to be even more durable and easier to service and update than the previous generation.
H&B Logistics, a warehousing service provider in the Netherlands, is a launch customer for the new YT193 tractor. There are also launch customers in Germany and the UK, covering distribution and port operation applications.
Terberg introduces a new generation of electric vehicles with new EV technology, including the YT203-EV terminal tractor and the BC202-EV body carrier. The performance of the new electric drive system is comparable with that of diesel engines and the large battery option offers a significantly greater operating range. Additionally, the new battery technology has an extended temperature range and can be used worldwide in both very cold and warm climates.
